The Clear Alternative to Braces®—Now for Teens!

Smile Often - Invisalign Teen is practically invisible. Most likely, the only way people will know about your treatment is if you tell them. So hang out with your friends, get in photos, and, of course, smile... confidently.

Invisalign Teen is the only clear orthodontic aligner therapy designed to address the unique concerns of treating non-adult comprehensive patients. The device has unique, innovative features that address compliance, natural eruption of permanent teeth, and root-movement control.

A Winning Combination

Invisalign Teen gives doctors a wide range of treatment options provided by the Invisalign system. It offers patients a comfortable, easy-to-use product. Because aligners are removable, patients can continue to eat their favorite foods and brush and floss normally to help keep teeth and gums healthy.

Invisalign Teen Makes Straightening Your Teeth a Snap
by Jane Shin Park April 10, 2009

I can still clearly remember wearing traditional metal braces throughout junior high, and all of the hassles that came with it: Having to stick a gob of wax at the ends of the wires, so they wouldn't poke me on the insides of my cheeks; regularly changing the rubber bands that linked my top and bottom braces; heading straight to the bathroom after lunch to make sure there were no unsightly food bits stuck in the metal hardware. That's why I'm admittedly jealous that teens today can straighten their teeth without the use of any wires, rubber bands, and wax, thanks to Invisalign. And now, the company that made metal braces a thing of the past has created a system designed just for teens. These new teen-targeted aligners are shaped in such a way that new teeth can grow in, and it won't mess up the straightening process. Plus, a blue dot Located on the back of the aligners is designed to fade over a two-week period if they are worn properly, so you, your parents, or your orthodontist can check to see if you're wearing them as often as you should. The best part about Invisalign, of course, is the fact that you can remove the aligners for special occasions (Prom, Graduation anyone?), so you can start straightening your teeth at anytime.

How Treatment Works
Here's a quick look at the main steps of your treatment:

  1. You'll meet with a designated Invisalign Teen provider for a Consultation and find out: is it for you?.

  2. Your provider will take pictures and impressions of your teeth.

  3. Those pictures and impressions are digitized. Then, your provider can use the 3D renderings to precisely plan your tooth movements from the beginning to the end of your treatment, in order to fix your orthodontic issue(s).

  4. Based on the precise treatment plan, aligners will be made to custom-fit your teeth. The number of aligners changes for each person.

  5. You'll wear your aligners about 20 to 22 hours everyday, except to eat, brush, and floss, or go to a special event.

  6. Approximately every two weeks, you'll swap your old aligners for new ones. The aligners will gently and continuously move your teeth until they are in their final prescribed position, all without the usual hassle of metal braces.

The Low-Down

You no longer have to straighten your teeth the old-fashioned way, with metal braces. The Invisalign Teen™ system lets you do it the modern, hygienic way. Your new smile is created with the most innovative technology – a series of clear aligners that are custom-fit to your teeth.

The first thing you should know is that an average treatment takes about a year.1 Plus your treatment can begin even if you don't have all of your permanent teeth. Invisalign Teen was designed to meet your needs.

The Aligners...

  • snap on your teeth easily.

  • are comfortable and practically invisible.

  • allow for your growing permanent teeth.

  • gently and continuously move your teeth in small increments.

  • are worn for about two weeks. Then you swap them for a new pair.

  • have a Blue Dot Wear Indicator, designed to show an estimation of wear-time. The dot is designed to fade to clear over a two-week period if you wear (20 to 22 hours everyday) your aligners properly.

  • can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing, or going to a special event.

  • are replaceable if lost. That's right, you get up to six free individual aligners.
